With it's strobing lights, distortion, and manipulation of a 'perfect' version of SOPHIE, Faceshopping is comprised of beat-heavy gummy-like noises that pair calm with chaos as harsh, loud synths are paired with the soft voice of SOPHIE repeating artificial phrases such as "'Hydroponic skin, Chemical release, Synthesize the real, and Plastic surgery". 3/4's into the song, it makes a sudden change into a heavenly, fantasy world where SOPHIE discusses how she wants to be 'reduced into nothingness' in soft moans of pleasure, then shortly returning to a more metallic version of the chorus we've heard several times before.

Told through the lyrics scattered throughout the synths, Faceshopping is about control, plastic surgery, realness, and the beauty standard. Sophie says in an interview that, quote,

"It’s about the emphasized idea that if you’re showing more face, you’re somehow being more real, but of course, there is a flip side to that, where you have false identities or different projections of yourself that you’re able to cultivate through your image."

Being real when she shops her face, SOPHIE explores modification as the main theme for this song, potentially being related to transgender surgeries and gender dysphoria, as getting surgery helps a ton to reduce gender dysphoria and transition, as told by SOPHIE through being real when the face is shopped.~placeholder ignore this}}
