It is estimated to have been around 30cm (12in) long when including the root.~When Tyrannosaurus rex hit around the age of 14 its body size would increase rapidly, putting on around 600kg (1300lb) a year over the next 4 years.~Tyrannosaurus rex had small arms that were extremely powerful and featured two clawed fingers.~Because of the lack of concrete evidence, it is difficult for scientists to work out how fast Tyrannosaurus rex could run, with estimates ranging from as low as 17kph (11mph) to as high as 70kph (43mph). Average estimates suggest a max speed of around 40kph (25mph).~There is a strong debate about whether Tyrannosaurus rex was a predator or scavenger. It had small arms which would have made it hard to grip prey, suggesting it may have been a scavenger. On the other hand, evidence in favor of it being a predator includes its forward pointing eyes which give better depth perception and make it easier to hunt.~In 1997 the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago purchased an 85% complete Tyrannosaurus rex fossil skeleton (nicknamed ‘Sue’ after its discoverer Sue Hendrickson) for 7.6 million US dollars, making it the most expensive dinosaur skeleton to date.~Along with Stegosaurus and Iguanodon, Tyrannosaurus rex was one of three dinosaurs that inspired the appearance of Godzilla.~Tyrannosaurus rex was represented in the popular Transformers toy line and animated series as Grimlock, an Autobot that could transform into a powerful Tyrannosaurus rex.~Equipped with a set of 50-60 banana-sized teeth, a T-Rex could rip almost 100kg of flesh off their victims in a single chomp!~The T-Rex had a brain twice as big as those of the other giant carnivores.~The T-Rex's two tiny, clawed arms (less than one metre in length) remain a bit of a mystery to this day. Many scientists think they may have been used to help these skilled hunters to grab and slash their prey.~More than 20 almost-complete T-Rex skeletons have been found. The most perfect, nicknamed Sue, was unearthed in South Dakota, USA, 30 years ago.~The Tyrannosaurus rex is often used in movie and films such as Jurassic Park due to its size and overall fearsome image.~The Tyrannosaurus had a very powerful bite which, coupled with sharp teeth, could easily crush the bones of other dinosaurs.~Since there is a lack of evidence around the T-Rex's speed, scientists are unsure if it was a hunter or a scavenger: some say the T-Rex was fast and could easily catch its own meals. Others say that the dinosaur was slow and would use its fearsome jaws to scare off other predators and take their kills.~The Tyrannosaurus had a life span of around 30 years.~It is thought that T-Rex babies were covered in feathers that were mostly shed as they grew older, though some recent evidence shows adults maintaining feathers along their heads and tails.~Aside from Tyrannosaurs, other Tyrannosaurid genera include Albertosaurus, Alectrosaurus, Alioramus, Chingkankousaurus, Daspletosaurus, Eotyrannus, Gorgosaurus, Nanotyrannus (a controversial genus that might, in fact, be an adolescent T. rex), Prodeinodon, Tarbosaurus, and Zhuchengtyrannus.~T. rex had the strongest bite of any land animal that ever lived. The dinosaur's bite could exert up to 12, 814 pounds-force (57,000 Newtons), which is roughly equivalent to the force of a medium-size elephant sitting down.~Not all of the Tyrannosaurus rex's teeth served the same function, according to a 2012 study: specifically, the dinosaur's front teeth gripped and pulled; its side teeth tore flesh, and its back teeth diced chunks of meat and forced food into the throat. Importantly, T. rex's teeth were wide and somewhat dull (rather than being flat and daggerlike), allowing the teeth to withstand the forces exerted by struggling prey, the study found.~In 2013, a group of scientists unveiled direct evidence of T. rex's predatory nature: a T. rex tooth embedded in a duckbill dinosaur's tailbone, which healed over the tooth (meaning the duckbill got away). The lead author added, "With this discovery, we now know the monster in our dreams is real."~While several T-Rex fossils have been found, some in near-pristine condition, there have been conspicuously few conclusive T-Rex footprint (or "trace") fossils found so far.~While the T-Rex's arms were small, they weren't weak - one paleontologist was quoted as saying, "The bicep alone—and this is a conservative estimate—could curl 430 pounds."~In 2012, a Chinese T. rex relative (Yutyrannus huali) reached an impressive length of over 25 feet and sported six-inch feathers which covered much of its body. This adds to the consideration that the Tyrannosaurus may have had quite a few feathers of its own.~Because the discoverer of a new species earns the naming rights, the Tyrannosaurus was almost renamed "Manospondylus gigas", until the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature (ICZN) ruled that because “Tyrannosaurus rex” had been a valid name for over 50 years, it warranted special protected status.~Like humans and birds of prey, T. rex had “binocular vision,” meaning its eyes looked directly forward and their planes of vision overlapped, enhancing the beast’s depth perception capabilities.~Over the years, many Tyrannosaurus skeletal remains have been found with tell-tale bite marks that most likely came from other T. rexes, although it’s impossible to determine if this was the result of scavenging or predation.~A baby T-Rex with a 15' body and a 21" skull was once listed on eBay for $2.95M, a highly controversial decision. It has not yet been sold.~T. rex teeth were replaced about every two years throughout the animal's life. Fossils have been found that show new teeth were constantly coming in, even before others fell out.~A recent study shows that the T-Rex could likely only achieve speeds around 12mph - if it tried to actually run, its weight would likely break its legs! Instead it probably walked similarly to a bird.}}

On the other hand, evidence in favor of it being a predator includes its forward pointing eyes which give better depth perception and make it easier to hunt.~In 1997 the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago purchased an 85% complete Tyrannosaurus rex fossil skeleton (nicknamed ‘Sue’ after its discoverer Sue Hendrickson) for 7.6 million US dollars, making it the most expensive dinosaur skeleton to date.~Along with Stegosaurus and Iguanodon, Tyrannosaurus rex was one of three dinosaurs that inspired the appearance of Godzilla.~Tyrannosaurus rex was represented in the popular Transformers toy line and animated series as Grimlock, an Autobot that could transform into a powerful Tyrannosaurus rex.~Equipped with a set of 50-60 banana-sized teeth, a T-Rex could rip almost 100kg of flesh off their victims in a single chomp!~The T-Rex had a brain twice as big as those of the other giant carnivores.~The T-Rex's two tiny, clawed arms (less than one metre in length) remain a bit of a mystery to this day. Many scientists think they may have been used to help these skilled hunters to grab and slash their prey.~More than 20 almost-complete T-Rex skeletons have been found. The most perfect, nicknamed Sue, was unearthed in South Dakota, USA, 30 years ago.~The Tyrannosaurus rex is often used in movie and films such as Jurassic Park due to its size and overall fearsome image.~The Tyrannosaurus had a very powerful bite which, coupled with sharp teeth, could easily crush the bones of other dinosaurs.~Since there is a lack of evidence around the T-Rex's speed, scientists are unsure if it was a hunter or a scavenger: some say the T-Rex was fast and could easily catch its own meals. Others say that the dinosaur was slow and would use its fearsome jaws to scare off other predators and take their kills.~The Tyrannosaurus had a life span of around 30 years.~It is thought that T-Rex babies were covered in feathers that were mostly shed as they grew older, though some recent evidence shows adults maintaining feathers along their heads and tails.~Aside from Tyrannosaurs, other Tyrannosaurid genera include Albertosaurus, Alectrosaurus, Alioramus, Chingkankousaurus, Daspletosaurus, Eotyrannus, Gorgosaurus, Nanotyrannus (a controversial genus that might, in fact, be an adolescent T. rex), Prodeinodon, Tarbosaurus, and Zhuchengtyrannus.~T. rex had the strongest bite of any land animal that ever lived. The dinosaur's bite could exert up to 12, 814 pounds-force (57,000 Newtons), which is roughly equivalent to the force of a medium-size elephant sitting down.~Not all of the Tyrannosaurus rex's teeth served the same function, according to a 2012 study: specifically, the dinosaur's front teeth gripped and pulled; its side teeth tore flesh, and its back teeth diced chunks of meat and forced food into the throat. Importantly, T. rex's teeth were wide and somewhat dull (rather than being flat and daggerlike), allowing the teeth to withstand the forces exerted by struggling prey, the study found.~In 2013, a group of scientists unveiled direct evidence of T. rex's predatory nature: a T. rex tooth embedded in a duckbill dinosaur's tailbone, which healed over the tooth (meaning the duckbill got away). The lead author added, \"With this discovery, we now know the monster in our dreams is real.\"~While several T-Rex fossils have been found, some in near-pristine condition, there have been conspicuously few conclusive T-Rex footprint (or \"trace\") fossils found so far.~While the T-Rex's arms were small, they weren't weak - ome paleontologist was quoted as saying, \"The bicep alone—and this is a conservative estimate—could curl 430 pounds.\"~In 2012, a Chinese T. rex relative (Yutyrannus huali) reached an impressive length of over 25 feet and sported six-inch feathers which covered much of its body. This adds to the consideration that the Tyrannosaurus may have had quite a few feathers of its own.~Because the discoverer of a new species earns the naming rights, the Tyrannosaurus was almost renamed \"Manospondylus gigas\", until the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature (ICZN) ruled that because “Tyrannosaurus rex” had been a valid name for over 50 years, it warranted special protected status.~Like humans and birds of prey, T. rex had “binocular vision,” meaning its eyes looked directly forward and their planes of vision overlapped, enhancing the beast’s depth perception capabilities.~Over the years, many Tyrannosaurus skeletal remains have been found with tell-tale bite marks that most likely came from other T. rexes, although it’s impossible to determine if this was the result of scavenging or predation.~A baby T-Rex with a 15' body and a 21\" skull was once listed on eBay for $2.95M, a highly controversial decision. It has not yet been sold.~T. rex teeth were replaced about every two years throughout the animal's life. Fossils have been found that show new teeth were constantly coming in, even before others fell out.~A recent study shows that the T-Rex could likely only achieve speeds around 12mph - if it tried to actually run, its weight would likely break its legs! Instead it probably walked similarly to a bird.}}\n\n{=(pic):{#:https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/608455665257676830/691732431413313696/Jurassicworld-trex-ending-1.jpg~https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/608455665257676830/691732431602057286/jp.jpg~https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/608455665257676830/691732432264626276/0bd0cb747ee3984222d778b774e2889e.jpg~https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/608455665257676830/691732432897966110/5c81956b2628980318753311.jpeg~https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/608455665257676830/691732433208475678/pxgyrn4g.webp~https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/608455665257676830/691732433439031296/108626742_mediaitem108626741.jpg~https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/608455665257676830/691732433653203024/4183.jpg~https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/608455665257676830/691732434034622546/scary-t-rex.jpg~https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/608455665257676830/691732434890391622/t-rex-roar-ringtone.jpg~https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/608455665257676830/691732448525942854/New-evidence-reveals-the-real-T.-rex-had-feathers-and-massive-eyes-730x410.jpg~https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/608455665257676830/691732448849035274/5c81951a26289802157a2e89.jpeg~https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/608455665257676830/691732449272529056/JW2_Adv1Sheet_TREX_2_preview_rgb.webp~https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/608455665257676830/691732449553678426/Trex1.jpg4a5e294e-b0e7-4c87-b112-4c5438def66bDefaultHQ.jpg}}",
